FAQ’s

What is a Gala?

In most cases, a Gala is an evening, formal event that includes, cocktails, dinner and entertainment. For non-profits, a Gala is usually an event used to promote the mission of the event and raise funds for the cause. Funds are raised through things like online and live auctions, raffles and calls for cash donations.

What is the difference between a VIP Ticket and General Ticket?

A General ticket includes admission to the Gala beginning at 6pm with a one-hour cocktail reception followed by appetizers, dinner and after dinner entertainment. A VIP ticket includes admission beginning at 5pm, additional appetizers and two drink tickets. If a VIP table is purchased, then two bottles of wine are on the table including the two drink tickets for each person at the table.

What do I wear?

The Gala is semi-formal and cocktail attire is appropriate. The theme for this year’s Gala is Vintage circus so themed attire is also welcomed (Think: The Greatest Showman or Water for Elephants, vintage 1920’s fashion).

Can I sit with friends if we are not buying a table?

Yes! There is no need to buy a full table to sit with friends. Once you have purchased tickets, you can email seating requests to team@a-typical.com.

How can I or my company sponsor?

There are several sponsorship opportunities for an individual, family, or company to give a cash donation to the event starting at $500. Different sponsorship levels include different benefits (some include tickets to the Gala) and an advertisement in the event program. Custom sponsorship packages can be requested as well. Sponsorships can be purchased here.

How can I or my company make a gift in kind donation to the event?

A gift in kind donation is a donation of anything other than cash. Experiences, trips and unique items are needed for the live and online auctions. If you know of a company that might like to donate, or if you have something you would like to donate, please fill out this form. The PTN would also be happy to reach out to a company if you have a potential donor. Please email: ptn@excelchristianschool.com

How can I or my company place an advertisement in the program?

The event program will be distributed to all event guests (approximately 250 people). Half page and quarter page advertisements are available for purchase. This is a great way for a company to advertise in the program or for parents to send a message to their child/children (these can be customized to say “Congratulations” to seniors for example).

Do I need to be at the event to bid in the online auction?

The online auction is open to anyone whether they are attending the event or not. This is a great way to support the Gala even if you cannot attend and this can also be shared with people outside of the Excel community.

All donations are tax-deductible (consult your tax professional for specific benefits, etc.)!
